Jamie Carragher sends clear warning to Cole Palmer as Thomas Tuchel Chelsea demand proven right

 

Jamie Carragher has warned Cole Palmer that he could be replaced by Anthony Gordon in the England squad.

The 22- year-old winger, who was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea before later joining Newcastle instead, has enjoyed a superb start to the Premier League campaign.

Gordon has featured 12 times for the Magpies in the English top-flight this term, scoring five goals and providing three assists. His impressive performances have helped Eddie Howe's side secure a European qualification place ahead of the festive period.

Despite his best efforts for Newcastle, Gordon hasn't quite caught the eye of Gareth Southgate like Palmer has.

The 21- year-old midfielder, who joined Chelsea from Manchester City in the summer, was handed his debut senior England call-up earlier this month following his brilliant displays for the Blues.
